Safety & Trust

Rent, book and hire with confidence

Scams and misleading listings are a real problem when looking for a house, a stay or a car. Here is what we do to keep PlugConnect KE honest, and simple steps you can take to stay safe.

What we do

How we keep listings honest

Every listing is reviewed

Our team checks each new listing, and every later edit, before it goes live.

Verified providers

Providers can submit ID and business documents to earn a verified badge.

Reviews from real customers

Only people who actually booked or paid can leave a review.

Expired listings come down

Rental and commercial listings expire after 30 days unless the provider renews them, so what you see is current.

Reports are acted on

Report a listing or provider and our team follows up.

Safety tips

Renting a house

  • Never pay a deposit or "booking fee" before you have viewed the house.
  • Confirm the person showing you around can let the house.
  • Pay to an account in the landlord's or agency's name and keep receipts.
  • Get a written tenancy agreement.

Booking a stay

  • Read the house rules, check-in times and what the rate includes.
  • Check reviews from previous guests.
  • Keep payment and messages on records you can show later.

Hiring a car

  • Inspect the car and photograph any damage before you drive off.
  • Confirm insurance, mileage limits and the fuel policy.
  • Agree pick-up and return times in writing.

For providers

  • Meet viewers in daylight and, where possible, with a caretaker present.
  • Confirm payments in your M-Pesa or bank account, not from a screenshot.
  • Verify your account to build trust with customers.

Something doesn't look right?

If a listing seems fake, a provider asks you to pay before viewing, or you were treated unfairly, tell us. We review every report.
